You ever had that thing where you fall in love wit

You ever had that thing where you fall in love with 17 ppl at once?
Not just cos they made you heaps hot when they drew you, or made you a stamp, or gave you the most constructive, supportive kick up the arse for that big ol' project of yours you could've asked for. Not just cos of their giant brains and diverse talents and shared love of this weird artform, that you can't get over the goddamn privilege of seeing at work firsthand. Not just cos they're funny as fuck. Or the poo chats. Or the offers to help with washing up or the advice when you were beginning to flail or the feeling of emotional safety or the mutual oversharing or them telling you that your sauce had the perfect amount of sugar when it totally didn't. It was all those things all together, and more.

Needless to say, I feel unbelievably lucky to have been able to spend two weeks at the 18-way meet cute that was the 5th @thecomicartworkshop at @bundanontrust, and the past year and a half making it happen (and stressing out about making it happen) with beautiful hat boy @fionnmccabe. Also very bloody lucky for the presence of food angel @patgrantart, and the fact that he and @the_other_liz ever dreamed this wild thing up at all. (Also @jshsantospirito and @elerimai for tricking me into doing this. Best trick ever. Abracadabra, time to sleep for a month.)

Hey all, feeling very lucky n thankful to have a short comic in @the_comics_journal_ #308 - an issue that focuses on politically committed comics, and how comic artists and communities have responded to ✨these uncertain times✨. It includes a super interesting interview with two civil rights activists responsible for creating graphics and informative minicomics for the first party to receive the "Black Panther Party" moniker, as well as a sweet run-down of the Aus comics scene by @benjuers that includes top folks @silentarmystoreroom, @readtome_ , @safdarnama, his work with @ctyalcinkaya as @hazeenmetal, @glompress, @sticky_institute, @otherworldszinefair and the Graphic Storytellers at Work report, as well as literary mags saving space for images-in-sequence and the usual famous expats. Thanks so much for such an intense but gratifying Sunday, @otherworldszinefair. Sweating behind a table while struggling to do basic maths to get people their change, before immediately spending all my money on other folks' stuff, is one of the things I missed the most in the last few years and it was so fucking good to be back at it. Big thanks to everyone who bought and traded with me too. The fundraiser zines raised $200 for Koroot (rounded up slightly, haha) which is also very cool, so double thank you for that 💕
